Nonetheless, the name was given to the greatest number of children in 2003 with 22,702 occurrences.

The least number of children given the name Emma was 417 in 1976.

Approximately during the years 1881-1884, 1911-1915, and 1981-2003, the name Emma took a definitive turn upwards in popularity whereas 2004-2010 were years of successive downward movement.
