The seventeenth week marks the beginning of fat stores under your baby's skin.

The fat will keep your baby warm after birth.

By the end of this week, your baby will be about 5 inches or 13 cm in length from crown to rump and weigh almost 5 ounces or 142 grams.

Second trimester symptoms are still common at this time.
