Pregnancy Week 16
In the sixteenth week, the baby's eyes and ears move closer to their final positions.
Finer facial muscles develop.
Although too slight to be felt, your baby's movements may now be seen on an ultrasound.
By the end of this week, your baby will be about 4.5 inches or 120 millimeters in length from crown to rump and weigh almost 4 ounces or 110 grams.
You may be getting to a size now that sleeping on your side may prove beneficial.
Sleeping on your stomach may prove uncomfortable and will put undue pressure on your uterus and baby.
Sleeping on your back may cause a decrease in circulation to you and your baby and the enlarged uterus may press against major blood vessels.
Investigate whether you may want to get a pregnancy or body pillow for added comfort.
